Acorns

The Acorns project is the story of three small acorns on a journey to become great oak trees, but it is also the journey of our small studio to test the limits of what we can do as filmmakers and animators. Through these stories we want to inspire curiosity throughout the world.

Everyone at some point goes through a life changing transition. These acorns are doing just that. They are small acorns ejected from their home tree who must go on a journey to transform into mighty oak trees.

Acorns is a web-series of 10 short episodes about these three acorns. The production team consisted of three artists working over the course of a month to produce each episode. They utilized a toolbox of animation techniques, like photogrammetry, to bring the small world of Acorns to life. The project pushed the technical capabilities of Tonko House while continuing to tell our stories.
